Tales From Little Lump Night Of The Undead Snow Monkeys edition by Jeff Folschinsky Chelsea Sutton Literature Fiction eBooks

Tales From Little Lump is a series of short tales (this particular one is around fifty-four pages) about the town of Little Lump, named after lumpy coal, and the extremely strange residents whose antics are so funny I found myself giggling out loud and I am definitely not a giggler. This is book two in the series and aptly titled Night of the Undead Snow Monkeys. Without giving book one away, a colony of snow monkeys are contaminated, killed and come back from the dead in zombie form, hell bent on eating and killing the residents of Little Lump. The story follows Gertie and Cousin Tommy as they try to find cover from these marauding zombies. This is a great short tale with hilarious characters. The dialogue is funny and the whole series belongs on television. This book is perfect on my ereader format wise and the cover is as funny as the book. I can’t wait for more Tales From Little Lump and, except for the marauding monkeys, wouldn’t mind living in Little Lump myself.

Tales From Little Lump Night Of The Undead Snow Monkeys edition by Jeff Folschinsky Chelsea Sutton Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Thoroughly enjoyed the continuing saga of Little Lump. Terrific adventure with wonderful characters. Really looking forward to finding out what comes next!
Gertie, who just happened to be out at the right time of night, shot down a hovering spaceship with her ground-to-air missile launcher (which she just happened to have). Instead of doing a great service for her community, she inadvertently released a radioactive alien waste into the nearby Japanese snow monkey sanctuary, turning all those cute creatures into tireless flesh-hungry zombies. Now Gertie has admirably step up to make amends for her mistake (although she really only has, like, 30% of the blame here) to try to rally the townsfolk and find a solution to their problem.

Yes, that's all on the first few pages.

The story is an absurd ride told form the point of view of a gun-toting, Christian Texan. Her interjections and way of seeing the events as they unfold actually caused me to laugh a few times. The events seem surreal, and you never know whats around the corner as our intrepid "hero" lurches from one event to the next.

While the page count is low, the text was oddly tiny (easily fixed by just changing the font size on ) so its a little bit longer than you're probably thinking it is. That said, its still a short story that can be read handily in an hour or so. The writing was great, with a good sense of comedic timing and nice enough descriptions I wasn't expecting much from the tale going in, but it was imaginative and very fun to read. Id recommend it!
This was a really funny, short, easy read. There's a lot of tongue-in-cheek satire, and a good bit of action, too. Definitely worth the price and the read! There are cute, amusing characters, and the plot conspires to produce significant hilarity.
There are a few typos & some quirks of writing that could be taken care of with a good editor, but a good read overall.
I was looking for an adventure story that would keep me entertained and turning pages for an afternoon this weekend - and I hit the jackpot with Tales from Little Lump - Night of the Undead Snow Monkeys. Just in time for Halloween, this was an awesome read about Gertie, who shoots down a bunch of friendly aliens and creates bigger problems for her little town. As this happened a hoard of undead snow monkeys is approaching the town. Gertie and her cousin Tommie are a hoot as they try to ward off these creatures and survive the night. This was so much fun to read and had me laughing many times. Can't wait for the next in the series.
Tales from Little Lump – Night of the Undead Snow Monkeys by Jeff Folschinsky was not my cup of tea. The story line was fine for a quirky story about a town with people you have to wonder if they are right in the head. My main gripe with this story is the repeating description undead Japanese snow monkeys. It seemed like it was said at least 2-3 times on each page. The story was meant to be fanciful (I am assuming), so I am not attacking anything about the plot. It was just the repeating phrases stuck so close together.
I give this book 3 stars. I just could not get into the story. That is not to say that I am unwilling to read anything else by this author. I love to read new stories all the time.
